Faith

I am intrigued by the impact of faith on the believers.
I visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem many times and took photos of pilgrims kneeling and praying on the Stone of Anointing, which tradition believes to be where Jesus' body was prepared for burial, and next to or inside the Aedicula, which encloses the Holy Sepulcher, where Jesus is said to have been buried and resurrected.

I love Chiaroscuro as used by Rembrandt and Caravaggio.
The only light source inside the Aedicula is a candle. It enabled me to produce Chiaroscuro images, in which only the pilgrims are illuminated, so attention is not distracted, and which gives them a 3-dimensional shape and a sense of volume.
